2006 Season – Aim High
Game Description: In the 2006 game, “Aim High,” students’ robots are designed to launch balls into goals while human players enter balls into play and score points by throwing/pushing balls into corner goals. Extra points are scored by robots racing back to their end zones and climbing the ramp to the platform before the end of the 2 minute and 10 second match.

Robot Description: Team 237’s robot was built on a 6 wheel drive system that was powered by single speed transmissions. This robot was able to collect balls from anywhere on the playing field using an intake system. These balls were brought up a conveyor system that stored the balls until they were ready to shoot. The robots primary feature was a custom built turret that could aim the shooting wheel using its near 360-degree motion. Two large motors shot balls into the goal to score points.
Book Published: Team 237s turret design won them a chapter in the Rockport Publishers book “FIRST Robots: Aim High: Behind the Design”.
